The complete vehicle fleet of the international import and export organisation Combilo B.V. in Waddinxveen has been fitted with the P-Eye tire pressure sensors of T Comm Tracking & Tracing in the context of the ‘Tire Pressure’ project of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment. Combilo vehicles will henceforth be using P-Eyes, which ensure that the vehicles are operated with the correct tire pressure. This means that Combilo uses less fuel, thereby considerably reducing its CO2 emissions.

DSC03069The Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment organised a Tire Pressure competition for the transport sector at the end of 2011 in order to encourage driving with the correct tire pressure. The goal of the Tire Pressure competition is to reduce the number of tire failures on national roads by 25 percent in 2013 and thereby promote safety and efficiency on Dutch roads. The P-Eye is one of the competition winners, which means that new users of the P-Eye are eligible for an incentive.

P-Eye ensures that the trucks have the correct tire pressure and thereby increases traffic safety. P-Eye is a tire pressure sensor that is fitted to the existing valve. The P-Eye is fitted with an LED light that flashes when the tire pressure drops below the pre-set alarm value. It tells you at a glance whether a tire has the correct pressure, and this makes checking a fleet many times more efficient.
