P-Eye is a European patented solution to monitor the tire pressure and has been introduced in the market for Trucks. The P-Eye for the passenger car market is still in the developing stage and will be introduced soon. The valve cap of the lorry tire is screwed off the tire and then replaced by the P-Eye. Next, the P-Eye measures the preset minimum pressure of the tire and passes this on electronically to the LED indicator light. If the tire pressure is more than 5% below the ideal pressure, the LED indicator begins to blink. The driver sees that the tire pressure of the specific tire is too low, and he can add air to the correct pressure level.

 

As far as tire pressure is concerned, it has been shown that a high percentage of the road users drive with tires that have a too low tire pressure. Goodyear concluded that this percentage was in excess of 68%. For passenger cars the percentage is 52, according to the Ministry of Transport. These results lead to the development of the P-eye.
